I grew up in southern California and studied engineering at UCLA. I first worked for Fluor Daniel, an international engineering company based in Orange County, and then for Qwest Communications in Denver, CO, where I first fell in love with the mountains. Wanting a change from engineering, I went back to school to get an MBA at UC Berkeley and took a marketing job with Intrawest in Mammoth Lakes.
